Why 25 narrow sites instead of one big one

A general review site has to be shallow. Covering headphones, mattresses, welders and baby carriers on one masthead means every category gets the same thin treatment, and the writer covering floor jacks this week was covering air fryers last week. Splitting the work across sites that each own one category is the opposite trade: fewer topics per site, more depth in each.

It also makes the standards checkable. Every site in this portfolio publishes the same editorial rules, names the same owner, and discloses funding the same way. If one of them slips, it is measurable against the other twenty-four, and you can find all of them from this page.

Each card below says what that site covers and shows the domain it lives on. For the sites still in build the domain is plain text rather than a link, because a link to a site that does not exist yet is a broken promise on every page it appears. When a site launches, its card gains a real link and its brand page is rewritten to describe what it has actually published.
