Plumbing fixtures are a long-cycle purchase made with short-cycle information. A faucet is chosen from a photograph and then lives in a kitchen for ten or fifteen years. What decides whether that goes well is almost never mentioned in a listing: what the cartridge is made of, whether it can be replaced without removing the whole unit, whether the finish survives cleaning products, and whether the manufacturer still stocks parts five years after a model is discontinued.

Spout & Sink is being built around serviceability. The plan is to identify the cartridge standard in each fixture, to record parts availability rather than assume it, and to treat warranty terms as a testable claim by reading what they actually exclude. Water filters will be covered against their published certification for specific contaminants, never against the vague performance language on the packaging.

Spout & Sink will be funded by affiliate commission when a reader buys through one of its links, paid by the retailer with no change to the price. Fixture manufacturers will not be able to buy a recommendation or influence one. A cheaper faucet with a standard, replaceable cartridge will beat an expensive proprietary one in these rankings, whatever each pays. This hub carries no affiliate links.
