Convertible furniture is judged on the photograph of the sofa and bought for the bed. Both matter, and they pull against each other: a mechanism that folds easily usually sits under a thinner mattress, and a comfortable mattress usually makes the fold heavy. Listings almost never give the numbers that would let somebody judge this -- mattress thickness, mechanism type, and the clearance needed to open the thing in a real room.

Fold & Futon is being built to publish both sides. The plan is to assess each piece as a sofa and as a bed separately, to give the floor clearance required to convert it, and to be specific about frame construction and mechanism type because those decide how many conversions it survives. Weight capacity and delivery access will be covered, since a sofa bed that cannot get up a stairwell is not a purchase.

Fold & Futon will make money through affiliate commission when readers buy through its links, paid by the retailer. Manufacturers will not be able to buy a recommendation, and a piece that is a poor bed will be described as a poor bed whatever it earns.
