Personal audio is one of the hardest categories to buy well. Noise-canceling claims are measured in a quiet room and then sold to people on a bus, comfort is entirely personal, and the specification sheet says almost nothing about whether a pair of headphones will still be in use in two years. Most of what fails does so slowly: a hinge, an ear pad, a charging case that stops holding a charge.

Hush & Haul is being built to cover that gap. The plan is to focus on the things a spec sheet cannot tell you -- how cancellation behaves against low, constant noise rather than in silence, whether a case is worth its bulk, and what the replacement parts situation looks like a year after release. Where a pair can be used hands-on over weeks rather than hours, the site will say exactly how long it was used and what went wrong. Where that is not possible, the page will say so in the same sentence, every time.
